Blogs I Follow

disclaimer
I'm very thankful for my life; everything that I've experienced (good/bad) until now has made me who I am today. I may exaggerate a little occasionally, but this is a blog and I've got to keep you reading somehow! ;] Sometimes people drive me crazy, this doesn't mean I don't love them. Oh, and sorry in advance: I like to complain a bit.

Bottom line: Everyone has a story; here's a part of mine ...

We met in the lobby this morning so we could go together to meet our guide for our walking tour.
It took up most of the day, and was not only super-informative, but allowed us to see most of the tourist-tourist places in Berlin. So.Much.Info.

After trying to get another stamp on our passports (before realizing none of us had them) at Checkpoint Charlie, a few of us had pizza at this place on Zimmerstraße. J-bird (my roomie), Paula, and myself shopped a little bit after lunch, while the boys (Chris, Tom, & Graeme) waited..as guys do. Conveniently, we were near the Berlin Wall memorial/timeline, so we checked that out before tackling the rest of the things on our to-do list.

We lost a couple people in our group, but made our way to Legoland (when in Berlin.... right?), then realized you not only had to pay, but had to be under a certain age.. Skipped that, and found a shopping mall. Which basically set the mood for the rest of the day. We bumped into a few more historic & touristy things (as you're bound to do in this city) as we made our way to the main shopping streets. Paula bought a dirndl (though I definitely gave her crap seeing as we weren't even in Bavaria yet..), while J and I did some serious shopping for more street-worthy clothes. Lucky (?) for Chris, he got to spend his birthday (yes..) with three ladies shopping. hah..

Later in the day, we made our way through Alexanderplatz and decided to eat at some place near our hotel. Abbey and Connor joined us, and naturally we made friends with our waiter. (Even though he was terrible at remembering things..hahah)

After dinner, we realized what time it was and literally ran back to our hotel (at times risking our lives to Berlin traffic), got ready in record timing, and ran back onto the bus for our Eye Spy Berlin evening.. Which basically meant a little bit of history (from an American tour-guide..aw yeah), and a lot of bar hopping.

Let's just say it was another good night, thanks to Contiki!
(Oh, and thank God I found a party buddy for the trip, that night -- Ms. Emma!)
